Product Component Strength Information

Dog Weight recommendations are based on the strength of the weakest component that makes up each individual product.

The assumed point of failure will be the weakest component unless the other materials such as webbing or paracord has been work, chewed, or somehow otherwise compromised.

5/8" Hardware has the following Limits

  • Snap Bolt: 40lbs WLL (Working Load Limit)
  • Gooseneck: 78lbs WLL
  • Auto-Locking Carabiner: 290lbs WLL
  • 5/8" YKK Plastic Side Release Buckle: Break Strength 70lbs / 20lbs WLL

 

5/8" Webbing has the following Strengths

  • Patterned Polyester: 750lbs Tensile Strength
  • Reflective Nylon: 1,400lbs Tensile Strength
  • Heavy Duty Nylon: 2,000lbs Tensile Strength
  • Adjustable Biothane®️: 435lbs Break Strength

 

1" Hardware has the following Limits

  • Snap Bolt: 100lbs WLL (Working Load Limit)
  • Gooseneck: 231lbs WLL
  • Auto-Locking Carabiner: 290lbs WLL
  • 1" YKK Plastic Side Release Buckle: Break Strength 120lbs / 40lbs WLL

 

1" Webbing has the following Strengths

  • Patterned Polyester: 1,200lbs Tensile Strength
  • Reflective Nylon: 2,400lbs Tensile Strength
  • Heavy Duty Nylon: 4,200lbs Tensile Strength
  • Adjustable Biothane®️: 700lbs Break Strength

 

1 1/2" Hardware has the following Limits

  • 1 1/2" Heavy Duty Nylon Webbing has a Tensile Strength of 5,500lbs
  • 1-1/2" YKK Plastic Side Release Buckle: Break Strength 308lbs / 102lbs WLL
  • 1-1/2" Aluminum Side Release Buckle: Break Strength 500lbs / 166lbs WLL

 

1 1/2" Webbing has the following Tensile Strength

  • Patterned Polyester: 1,500lbs
  • Reflective Polyester: 1,500lbs
  • Heavy Duty Nylon: 5,500lbs

 

Paracord Hardware has the following Working Load Limits

  • Light Weight Screw-lock carabiner: 50lbs
  • Standard Swivel Snap Bolt: 75lbs
  • Heavy Duty Swivel Snap Bolt: 115lbs
  • Auto-Locking Carabiner: 290lbs

 

All paracord products are made from 4 strands of cord

  • 275 Paracord has a Tensile Strength of 275lbs per strand
  • 550 Paracord has a Tensile Strength of 550lbs per strand
